CHNS-O ELEMENTAL ANALYZER
CHNS-O (Model Vario EL III by Elementar)
Carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur are the basic elements of living nature.
The elements analyzer is a fully automatic instrument for a speedy and quantitative determination of CHNS-O.
The elementary analyzer Vario EL ǀǀǀ works according to the principles of catalytic tube combustion in an oxygenated CO2 atmosphere and high temperatures. The combustion gases are freed from foreign gases (for instance, volatile halogen). The desired measuring components are separated from each other with the help of specific adsorption columns and determined in succession with a thermal conductivity detector (TCD). Helium (He) Serves as flushing and carrier gas.
In every mode of operation, a calibration that covers the desired working range for each element must be performed. For this purpose, test substances (for instance, sulphanilic acid, acetanilide) with given element content and different weights are analyzed.
Application
CHNS-O elemental analyzer is used to determine carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, sulfur and oxygen content in a matrix.
Type of sample
Soil, plat, meat products, feed, fertilizer, polymers, chemicals, rubber, oil, most inorganic solids and liquids in homogeneous samples.
