In 2012, this department started offering Art Research programs for M.A. students, and so far several M.A. groups are graduated from this department.

The following opportunities are provided in the department of Art Research at the Faculty of Art, which we believe is one of the most beautiful faculties of Art in Iran:

• You will be introduced to general concepts in art research, and will become acquainted with the generalities and particularities of research in art, especially, qualitative research and reading images.
• The focus of practice in this department, according to our specialty, is on visual arts. But, considering the potentials of our supervisors in Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz and other universities in the country, we are not oblivious to other areas of art research.
• Regarding the art research, our focus is on applied and topic-based research, and we will encourage you in this regard, too.
• Our criterion for accepting your research topics is attention to regional-national issues in Iran and other neighboring countries. Applied research in visual arts, and history of art also constitute other areas of interest for in-depth qualitative research. Moreover, we will welcome inter-disciplinary research and proposals aiming at preserving and recreating the urban and rural image.
• Our department will support your unique and practical ideas and will help you pursue and achieve your dreams within the framework of the most up-to-date research paradigms.
• We welcome your background knowledge and expertise and will help you develop your experiences and grow more practical.
• If you join us from other disciplinary areas, our professors will provide you with extracurricular programs and required courses to help you compensate for the inadequacies.      
• Indoor and outdoor extracurricular cultural and recreational activities, as well as cooperation and communication with students of the departments of graphic and painting will provide you with memorable experiences.
• Administration of exhibitions, student workshops, festivals, seminars, specialized graphic and painting workshops and art works with other students of the Faculty of Art will bring you valuable experiences.

The faculty members of our department, including three assistant professors, and eight experienced lecturers in areas of graphic, painting, photography and illustration will provide you with expert supervisions and help you achieve your goals. In collaboration with professional advisors from other universities they pave the way for you to develop your professional knowledge and expertise. Right now, 27 students are studying Art Research in our department.
